Term of Service: starts Sept 6, 2011 and completes Aug 31, 2012. All positions are full-time.

Benefits: All members receive a living allowance (approximately $450 bi-weekly), an educational award of $5550.00 (upon successful completion), health and dental insurance plan including reimbursement of deductible charge, child care (d.o.q) and ongoing training.CTEP positions fall within two categories:
Economic Empowerment Members (serving adults)
Economic Empowerment Members teach technology literacy skills to adults as they relate to obtaining employment and improving civic and social opportunities. Economic Empowerment members serve in community technology centers which are located within nonprofit organizations, public housing facilities, and libraries. They teach specific software skills, such as how to use the internet, wordpressing, email, and teach workforce readiness classes geared towards English language learners using interactive software. Academic Achievement Members (serving youth)
Academic Achievement members inspire the academic success of immigrant and low-income youth by providing technology literacy and youth media programming. Educational Achievement members instruct students in grades 6-12, mostly in after-school programs. Education Members help students achieve state and national academic standards by enhancing their learning with technology literacy instruction. These standards may relate to online research, typing, youth media programming, including media literacy training, website and game design, newsletter production, digital video, and blogs. As positions are open on a first-come first-serve basis, this table is updated daily as positions close with other applicants. The AmeriCorps.gov site takes a longer time for changes to take affect, so a position may appear available on that site but in reality is closed as shown on the graph below.
