The Community Technology Empowerment Project

The Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP) AmeriCorps
bridges the “digital divide” for new Immigrants and low-income communities
in Minneapolis and St. Paul. AmeriCorps members help youth and adults use technology to better access social, civic, educational and economic opportunities.

CTEP AmeriCorps Members:
- Educate about technology literacy at non-profits, community centers, and libraries
- Assess partner agencies’ technology capacities and train staff on how to best use those capacities;
- Develop stronger volunteer bases through which agencies can extend programming and more adequately meet the needs of targeted communities;
- Develop culturally and linguistically appropriate informational websites and public service announcements (PSAs) that provide community members with access to critical resources and information.
